Products Affected:
CTI# 6255 PDS-50, 6410/11 MasterBlast Controller

Overview:
Over-discharge can radically reduce the useable life of SLA (Sealed Lead Acid)
batteries such as the batteries used in the CTI # 6280 Battery base.
Firmware upgrades are available for both PDS -50 and MasterBlast Controller that
add battery voltage monitoring and low power shut down features.
Both upgrades are designed to protect the batteries in a connected 6280 Battery Base
by monitoring the battery voltage and reducing power demand when the battery
voltage drops near the fully discharged level. When the Battery Base is discharged by
~ 90%, the upgraded unit will drop light output level to 50%. When the battery
reaches full discharge, the upgraded unit will turn off.

Details:
The new firmware for # 6255 PDS-50 is V1.0.2
The new firmware for 6410/11 MasterBlast is V1.0.7
Contact City Theatrical to get your PDS-50s or MasterBlast Controllers upgraded.
The upgrades may be performed at CTI without charge, except that freight charges
are not included.

Alternatively, 6410/11 MasterBlast units may be upgraded remotely via the DMX port
using an RS-232 to RS-485 Dongle with CTI’s bootloader upgrade utility. Contact CTI
Engineering Department for details.
